Hua Hin Guide By Areas
Hua Hin, Cha-Am and Pranburi
Today, increasing numbers are travelling the short 200km south to the fabulous beaches and tropical wonders found in Hua Hin, Cha-Am and Pranburi, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Although each area has its own unique character and beaches, other attractions like national parks and numerous golf courses in the region can be reached easily.
Originally a sleepy fishing village, Hua Hin awakened from its slumber in the 1920's when it was connected to Bangkok by railway line. It soon developed into a popular retreat, frequented also by the Thai Royal family. Hua Hin has seen a lot of development over recent years, but still has very much a relaxed, local flavour. Fantastic resort developments have made Cha-Am and Pranburi on the outskirts very popular too, although these areas are much quieter and offer idyllic seaside escape. In this section we take a closer look at these three areas – the perfect orientation to help you decide what’s more your cup of tea, complete with all their individual highlights, recommendations for where to stay, things to do and see, and other useful information. |
