ATV and Paintball

With basic routes that cater to beginners and more difficult ones with muddy roads for the more skilled ATV driver, this sport is recommended to anyone who loves upbeat adventure. If you prefer to take a long distance route that promises insights into local lifestyles, then this is also possible.

After or before you hit the ATV Park you can spice things up by venturing over to the paintball area. Paintball promises hours of fun and a few bruises. Accommodating up to 16 players war is the game and a full scale assault the aim. The Kill Zones and Bunker complexes are suitable for ages (within reason) and all necessary equipment readily available, this includes a bullet proof vest.

Golf

Set amongst spectacular scenery, hugged by forested mountains and idyllic blue sea, Cha Am is one of the best destinations to enjoy a round of golf. Between here and Hua Hin, you will find some of the best golf courses in Thailand, including the Jack Nicklaus-designed course and six international standard courses, each offering various obstacles and challenges that will keep you coming back for more.

Kitesurfing

Blessed with daily thermal winds, particularly between February and April, and relatively flat shoreline, Cha Am's 5-kilometre stretch of beach is ideal for kitesurfing. For those who are new to the sport, there are numerous schools that offer introduction classes, most lasting three days.

Pony Riding

Pony riding is an activity you will not find at any other beaches in Thailand besides Cha Am and Hua Hin. Imagine galloping down the expansive beachfront on the back of a pony - or a horse - as you take in a sweeping panorama of the sea. Worry not, if you are new to pony riding. These are not wild horses that will gallop off at terrifying speeds leaving clouds of dust behind – they’re very tame and well trained to offer visitors an enjoyable experience. In most cases, the jockey will accompany you throughout the journey, and sometimes even teach you a few tricks on how to maneuver the gentle creature around the beach.

Spa

Nearly all luxury hotels in Cha Am have nice spa facilities and offer both revitalising and relaxing treatments that can include massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, acupressure, body wraps, re-contouring and a variety of specialised treatments for hair, skin and face. Most also feature private rooms for en-suite or individual treatments, as well as spa packages catered to specific needs.

Watersports

Watersports are not the main highlight of Cha Am beach, as the options are limited to banana-boating, kitesurfing and jet-skis. Nevertheless, the relatively flat and broad beachfront is ideal for beach volleyball, football and even Frisbee. For windsurfing, sailing and parasailing, head further north to the beaches around Petchaburi's Fisherman's Village.
