Khao Takiab Restaurants & Dining
Where and What to Eat in Khao Takiab
The number of places to eat in Koh Takiab is rapidly growing. This up-and-coming area not only has resort developments in the pipeline, which inevitably bring restaurants, but an increasing number of expats and locals are choosing to open up here, outside of central Hua Hin. At the time of writing the dining scene was varied enough to please a diverse pool of appetites and as in most eateries in this province, seafood rules supreme.
Other than the array of beachside dining joints there is an Italian, a good few Thai places and all the international dining that comes with upscale resorts. Just 10 Kilometres out of Hua Hin, the only major difference between the dining scenes is Koh Takiab’s lack of fast food chains and street food vendors, otherwise everything you can get in Hua Hin you can get here, in more peaceful surroundings.
Baan Talay Dao
Part of a small boutique beachfront resort, this restaurant sits right in front of the ocean. Candlelit, with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, this tranquil eatery is where traditional Thai dishes are combined with seafood and a few international treats.

Cicada
Arguably the most exciting thing that has happened in this area for a while, the Cicada Market meaning “Open Mat, Open Mind, Open Idea”, is a contemporary structure dedicated to shopping, dining and exhibiting – art and food mix surprisingly well. The menu is varied, the setting impossibly romantic and staff members smiley. For those who want to gain insight into Hua Hin’s creative community or to enjoy an alternative setting, this is a place to venture out to.

La Mer
Probably the most famous restaurant in this small area, La Mer is perched on Koh Takiab Mountain. Just a five-minute walk downhill from the temple, it scores good points for both the food and view. As a general rule the number of Thais eating in a restaurant is usually a good indicator as to how good the food is. The seafood is definitely worth a trip up the mountain, lovely and fresh as with most quality seafood restaurants, depending on the dish, is priced by weight
