Khao Takiab Shopping
Where to Shop and What to Buy in Khao Takiab
Khao Takiab is not a place you would necessarily come to shop. It has a handful of shops that mostly deal in handicrafts, art and beachwear. If you’re after more than this then it’s probably best that you take a trip to nearby Hua Hin.At the forefront of Khoa Takiab’s shopping scene is the recently opened Cicada Market, an obvious reference to the number of insects that inhabit the area. Here we have restaurant, gallery and market brought together in one gallery style building. As with the rest of the province, market-style stalls selling handicrafts and intricately-made items can also be found.
Cicada Market
This is definitely an exciting addition to the local shopping scene. With its art-inspired concept the Cicada Market is the first and only of its kind around here. All the goods on offer are art-related, mainly paintings, sculptures and a few handicrafts. On Saturdays the market takes place between 15:00-21:00 in a gorgeous garden setting.
Separated into four sections: Art a la Mode, Art Indoors, Art of Act and Art of Eating, Art a la mode occupies the majority of space and is dedicated to clothes, decorative items, home wear, and handmade accessories. Art Indoors is situated in the art gallery were the bulk of painting, sketches and sculpture can be found and bought.

Khao Takiab Mountain
At the top of the mountain, the area is fringed by a series of market-style stalls selling local crafts. Thai-style ornaments and tableware can be found up here, wind chimes and cute accessories. You’ll soon notice that shell-based crafts are very common around this province, in particular things for the house such as drapes and ornaments. The goods up here make for nice keepsakes of your time spent in Thailand and great gifts for others.
