Hua Hin Shopping
What & Where to buy in Hua Hin
|
No holiday experience would be complete with a bit of shopping thrown in, and Hua Hin has all sorts of shopping treats lined up for visitors. There are some shopping opportunities in nearby Cha-Am and Pranburi too, but for variety and choice you’d be better off exploring in Hua Hin. Whether you want to have a new suit or dress made, or looking for souvenirs and the local crafts Thai people are so famous for, you’re in luck. Local markets like the Day or Night Markets offer a very wide variety of merchandise, and probably the best places to shop at. |

Hua Hin and the area around it have wonderful places to shop for virtually all of Thailand's traditional handicrafts. In addition, the town itself has become a centre for contemporary art with several small galleries featuring works by local artists. If you’re looking for a suit or dress, there are legions of tailors in hotels and other areas that will craft one to your specifications. There are also numerous opportunities to purchase reasonably priced handbags, sunglasses, costume jewellery, prescription glasses, or ready-made clothing. As elsewhere in Thailand, bartering is the norm, and you will achieve the best prices doing so with a friendly approach and big smile. (Read more...) |

There’s a saying that a good shopper will always find something to buy. Not exactly renowned for its shopping offerings, Cha-Am after all has other things working its magic. While shops in town perhaps cater mostly for the locals, and a new supermarket for the needs of a slowly-growing expat community, Thai people are known for their skills and craftsmanship. Be on the look-out for some local crafts like shell work, printed fabrics and carvings even, sold by some beach vendors and at a few places in town. If you have an overwhelming urge to splurge, Hua Hin’s night market is just 15 minutes away, and makes for a fantastic shopping excursion – a showcase of local arts and crafts. For what to buy and where, our Hua Hin Shopping section has plenty suggestions. |
